Mission Statement
The mission of the Floral Park Library is to provide for the informational, educational, cultural, and recreational needs of the community by enabling access to a wide variety of print and audio/visual materials, electronic resources, and quality programming for all ages. This will be achieved and maintained through continual monitoring and re-evaluation of the collection and training of staff in the current best practices.
A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE LIBRARY
The Floral Park Public Library was established in 1923 and has been in its present location of the corner of Tulip Avenue and Caroline Place since 1964. The quaint red brick building with cupola offers patrons a wide array of services. It houses a well-diversified collection of fiction, non-fiction, magazines, newspapers, CD’s and DVD’s. Public internet computers for those needing computer access while WiFi is available for those wishing to use their mobile devices. Beyond the library’s walls, there is a substantial offering of selections available online. This includes eBooks that can be easily downloaded to databases that can be accessed from home by visiting the library site at www.floralparklibrary.org.
